|Edith L. Hogan, was born September 21, 1925 (86 years old) in Adrian, Missouri to Elmer and Ferne Stucki. She passed away August 3, 2012 at 6:20 PM at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She married Herschel L. Hogan, Sr. on April 14, 1965. Preceded in death by her husband, both parents and one sister.
Surviving are a son, Stephen (Julie) LaFollette of Edmond, Oklahoma, a daughter, Betsy (Frank) Tocha of Kewanee, Illinois, a step-son, Herschel L. "Monty" Hogan, Jr. (Chris) of Galesburg, Illinois and a step-daughter, Phoebe (Larry) Hovind of Lake Bracken.
Also surviving are three granddaughters: Jennifer (Jason) Bourque of Athens, Ohio, Amanda (Chad) Forsythe of Ogden, Kansas and Ashley Tocha of Topeka, Kansas and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Paige, Jillian, and Josey.
Edith was reared and educated in Missouri, Idaho and Illinois. She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1943. She worked for Illinois Power Company in Galesburg for 38 ½ years and retired in 1987. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Knoxville, Illinois and was a member of the Harley-Davidson Sauk Trail Chapter in Kewanee.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, riding motorcycles with her husband, working on craft projects, and reading.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West in Galesburg, Illinois with Rev. David Shreeves officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:30- 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Christian Church.
