Sloan, Ann Marie
Ann Marie Sloan, age 49, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 9:24 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at her parents' home in Knoxville, Illinois with her family by her side.

She was born on October 28, 1963 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Cleveland L. and Karen R. Lewis Sloan. She attended and graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1981, then attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. She married Paul E. Filson, July 21, 1980 in Dahinda, Illinois, then she married Paul Mathews, December 30, 1991 in Knoxville, Illinois.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Brandi (Tim) Daugherty of Knoxville, Illinois and Joshua (Anna) Filson of Macomb, Illinois; two grandchildren: Eric J. and Alyson P. Daugherty. Her parents: Karen and Jerry Benjamin of Knoxville, Illinois. Her brother: Bret A. (Donna) Benjamin and a sister, Amy R. (Walt) Nettles of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her special friend: Bradley Hix of Grandview, Missouri. Three nephews, Dalton Nettles, Brandon and Nathan Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland L. Sloan and her grandparents.

She worked as a trainer for the KCCDD in Galesburg, Illinois for thirteen years, then worked as a leasing agent for the Grand Summit Complex in Grandview, Missouri.

She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, she enjoyed working on the computer and trips to Las Vegas.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held 12:00 - 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. A private graveside inurnment will be on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or Hospice Compassus.
