Hollenberg, Cecil V.
Cecil Hollenberg, of Galesburg formally of Roseville, IL passed away Friday August 16, 2013, 4:45 pm at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, IL.

He was born November 18, 1921 at his familys home east of Roseville, IL the son of Alvin Clive and Vesta Holeman Hollenberg. He married E. Naomi White on February 12, 1948 in Roseville, IL.

He is survived by One Daughter Cheri (Todd) Singleton of Monmouth, IL, and One Son Jan (Kathy) Hollenberg of Corinth, TX; two grandchildren Bart Carlson of West Bend, WI, and Sheriff's Deputy Chad Carlson of Champaign IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers.

Cecil, a World War II Veteran, served his country in Italy and North Africa as a Tech 4 Sargent Signal Corps under Air Force Command from 1942-1945. After the war, he farmed West of Roseville on the family farm. Cecil was also a skilled electrician. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, and the American Legion.

Graveside service will be 11:30 am Wednesday August 21, 2013 at the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:20 am at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL. Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight Quad Cities (Davenport, IA) or the American Legion Post 614 Roseville, IL. Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.
