|Forrest G. Garrison, 90, Plano, Texas died 5:47 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home.
He was born September 28, 1922 in Hamilton County Ill. to Herschel and Alma Simpson Garrison. He married Jean Harvey May 7, 1966 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Linda Garrison of Chicago, Ill., five grandchildren, Heather, Shannon, Blake, Kate and Lindsay and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Christine Hancher, August 22, 2010 and a brother John Garrison.
Forrest spent his business career in the trucking industry and retired in 1991 as the vice president of the former Bright Truck Leasing Company, Dallas, Texas. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran serving from 1942 to 1946. He was a sergeant in communications serving in France and England. He was a member of the American Legion. He was an active member of the Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. Forrest was the 1948 and 1949 Illinois State Champion Tractor and Semi-Trailer Driver.
Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. Pastor Mary Runge will officiate.
