Bjorling, Patricia J.
Patricia J. "Pat" Bjorling, age 91, of Gilson, Illinois died at her home on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 3:50 AM.

She was born on July 1, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois to Dr. Reuben A. and Valrie Marie (Bixler) Moffett.

She attended Knoxville High School, but graduated in 1940 from Our Lady of Angels Academy, Clinton, Iowa. She attended Monmouth College where she was a member of the Crimson Masque. She also attended Brown's Business College and worked as a secretary at the former Admirals in Galesburg, Illinois.

She married Maurice "Maury" Bjorling on December 14, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. They first lived in Wataga, Illinois and in 1948 moved to the Gilson, Illinois area.

She is survived by one son, Joel Bjorling, at home, of Gilson, Illinois. She is also survived by special friends, Carl and Carolyn Wilcoxson of Knoxville, Illinois. Her husband, parents and one brother, Theodore "Ted" Moffett preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Lucretia Leffingwell Chapter NSDAR since 1950 and was a 60 year member. She was a lifetime member of the Bishop Hill Vasa Lodge #683.

She was an avid quilter and showed her quilts at the old Knox County Courthouse in Knoxville, Illinois. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a former member of the former Order of the Eastern Star Lafayette Chapter.

She was a former Persifer Township election judge and worked at the Appleton Town Hall.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Knoxville Cemetery with Fr. Dues-Deita Baybatao and Deacon Jim Haneghan presiding. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the Lucretia Leffingwell Chapter NSDAR or to the Knox County Humane Society. A fellowship will follow the graveside services at Hurd Hendricks fellowship center in Knoxville. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville is in charge of arrangements.
