Linda Marie Smith, age 62, of Knoxville, Illinois, died on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 6:00 A.M. at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She lost the battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 16, 1947 in Streator, Illinois, the daughter of Emmett and Lois Lawrence Heck.
She married Roger Smith on June 27, 1969 in Wenona, Illinois.
He survives of Knoxville, Illinois.

Brother-In-Law: Larry Smith in Pontiac, Illinois
She lived in Rutland, Illinois and went to school in Toluca, Illinois graduating from High School in 1965. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics.
She worked as a day care director at the YMCA Kidcare Station in Galesburg, Illinois for 22 years.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois.
She was a member of the Pilot Club in Galesburg, Illinois.
She enjoyed her family and children.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Private Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michel D. Clark officiating.
Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
Private Inurnment will be held at a later date.
In-Lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to the YMCA Kidcare Station-Infant/Toddler Room; Shriners’ Hospital for Children or the Relay for Life.
