Mac R. Miller 80 of Galesburg, IL died Sunday September 13, 2009, 1:05 am, at the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, IL.

He was born September 15, 1928 near Industry, IL the son of C. Russell and Vera McGrew Miller. He was reared in Galesburg, and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947.

He married Patricia A. Minor in 1952; they had three children daughter, Karen (Jon) Stevens of Altona, IL, sons Rodney Miller of Lacey, WA, and Dr Jerry (Sue) Miller of Clyde, NC. He has 4 grandchildren and one great grandson; two brothers, Dr. Jack D. Miller of Gilbert, AZ and Scotty G. Miller of Scottsdale, AZ; and nieces and nephews. He married Maxine Nitz in January 1981 she preceded him in 1998. He married Diane Bostic in 1999, they divorced, he then married Rumyana Kovchazova in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Maxine.

He served in the Army during the Korean War, 1951-1954. He then became and Illinois State Trooper working out of Rock Island District #7. He lived in Altona, IL until 1981 when he moved to Bishop Hill, IL. He was a trustee for Bishop hill and later became Mayor of the village. After his retirement, he raised miniature horses and ponies for show. He also built horse carts and carriages and participated in many parades. He moved to Galesburg in 2006. He was a member of the IL State Police Retirement Association and the United Church of Altona.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm, at Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, Table Grove, IL.
