|Lottus A. Williams, 84, Galesburg, passed away at 7:28 PM Monday, September 14, 2009 in Rosewood Care Center.
Lottus was born February 25, 1925 in Warren County, IL, the daughter of Aden and Lois Brashear Van Fleet. Lottus attended Fruit Hill School in rural Maquon and graduated from Maquon High School, where she was a cheerleader.
Lottus Van Fleet Fuller married Warren E. "Chub" Williams on April 3, 1946 at First Presbyterian Church.
She worked at Sears, Gale Products, and graduated from Morris School of Beauty Culture in 1963. She worked at the former Charm Center and had her own salon in the home until her retirement in 1988. Lottus enjoyed bowling and was involved in the Knox County Fair, where Chub was a director and V.P. They traveled and enjoyed their cottage in Keithsburg, where she was a member of the Keithsburg Boat Club.
Lottus is survived by her husband, a sister, Mary Pruett of Galesburg, brother, John (and Marilyn) Van Fleet of Galesburg, and daughters, Patricia Wright of Cumming, GA and Roberta (and Dewey) Wright of Sebastian, FL. Also surviving are 5 grandsons, 4 great grandsons, and 4 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruth Owens, and brothers, Daniel and Robert Van Fleet.
Lottus was a 50 year member of Bethel Shrine and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be 11:30 AM Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Paul Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Friday at the chapel with Bethel Shrine Service at 5 PM. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
