Yager, Mava Bernice
Mava Bernice Yager, 84, of Cockeysville, MD, formerly of Alexis, died at 7:10 A.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Stella Maris Nursing Facility in Timonium, MD.

She was born Feb. 18, 1925 in Doniphan, MO, the daughter of Troy Oren and Edith (Randoph) Dillbeck. After the passing of her mother in 1927, Oren married Martha (Bethell) Dillbeck on December 24, 1927 and they raised Mava and her siblings. Mava was raised and educated in Alexis, IL graduating from Alexis High School in 1943, then from Brown's Business College in Galesburg in 1944. She later graduated from Gem City Beauty School in Quincy, IL in 1970.

Mava married Edward B. Yager in Quincy on Dec. 24, 1947, which ended in dissolution in the 1960s.

She worked as a secretary and beautician. She enjoyed participating in church activities, bible studies senor day trips, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Valley Baptist Church in Lutherville, MD.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Powers of Sparks, MD; son, Brent Yager of Wolf Creek, MT; grandchildren, Elias Geisendorfer of Sparks MD, Uriah Yager of East Helena, MT, Dr. Abram Geisendorfer of Sparks, MD, Jacob Yager of Havre, MT and Nehemiah Yager of Stillwater, OK; 3 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Sewell Dillbeck of Rio, IL, Rex Dillbeck of Phoenix, AZ, Bob Dillbeck of Muscatine, IA and Troy Dillbeck of Chicago, IL; 6 nieces and 6 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in law, Ila Dillbeck.

Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M. Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, IL. Friends may call Friday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 10:00-11:00.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.hooverhall.com.
