|Mr. Donald L. Kelso, 80, of 1414 Clay St. Galesburg Ill died at 6:48 pm Friday September 10, 2010 in Cottage Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1929 in Dahinda, Ill the son of Enos L. and Golda Howard Kelso. He married Crystal Davenport in Galesburg on August 24, 1963. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons Ronald (Carol) Davenport of Swayzee, Ind and Michael (Leslie) Kelso of Galesburg; three daughters Cyndi (Emil) Johnson Jr of Abingdon, Lynn (Jesse) Young of Galesburg and Teresa Davenport of St. Paul Minn; three brothers Wilbur (Ruth) Kelso and Allen (Connie) Kelso both of Maquon, Ill and Roger (Ree) Kelso of Abingdon; one sister Pamela (Bud) Starnes of Maquon, Ill; 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Donald worked as a laborer for 35 years at the Abingdon Pottery, retiring in 1991. He was raised in Dahinda, lived in Abingdon for a number of years before moving to Galesburg in 1984. He was a member of the East Galesburg Community Chapel. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at the chapel. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to the East Galesburg Community Chapel or to the charity of the Donors choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
