Anderson, Margaret L.
Margaret L. Anderson, age 90, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:36 P.M. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on December 18, 1922 in Knox Township, Knox County, Illinois the daughter of Ora Benton and Isal Breece King. She married E. Harold Stripe on May 25, 1944. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1960. She later married Robert S. Anderson on February 3, 1962 and he preceded her in death on September 1, 1997.

She is survived by her children: Stanley E. (Lynn) Stripe, Milton, Florida; Sherry Glas, Galesburg, Illinois; Jerry A. (Kathryn) Stripe, Zephyrhills, Florida; Harry E. (Teresa) Stripe, Charlotte, North Carolina, Moses S. (Roberta) Anderson, Alexis, Illinois and Matthew R. (Darlene) Anderson, rural Galesburg, Illinois. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, three sisters and one grandson, Jeremy Stripe.

After graduating from high school, she studied for two years at Western Illinois Teachers College and later at the Navy Hospital Corps School in San Diego, California. She was a member of the Lucretia Leffingwell Chapter NSDAR, the Galesburg Womans Club and P.E.O. Chapter Galesburg, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Deacon Rod Gray will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at the Little York Cemetery, Little York, Illinois. A fellowship will follow the memorial service at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, Rescue Mission or Lucretia Leffingwell Chapter NSDAR. Online condolences can be made at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
