|Bobbie Eugene Chase, 80, of Knoxville, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Knox County Nursing Home.
He was born March 5, 1933 in Pittsfield, Ill. the son of Marshall and Louella (Darnell) Chase. He married Betty Ann Jackson on March 5, 1952 in Pittsfield. She preceded him in death September 9, 2011.
He is survived by three sons, Roger E. (Kathy) Chase of Knoxville, Alan D. Chase of Kansas City, Mo., and Michael S. (Carolyn) Chase of Abingdon; a daughter, Maritta A. (Parker) Smizer of Farmington; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Marshall Chase of Quincy; and two sisters, Betty Feltes of Quincy and Peggy Dinubilo of Pendleton, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Bobbie was an iron worker for over 40 years. He also farmed during this time. He was raised in the Quincy area and had also lived in Galesburg, St. Augustine, London Mills, and Little Swan Lake. Bobbie enjoyed going to auctions and hunting.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 in Fiatt Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
