Carlson, Mildred A.
Mildred A. Carlson, 83 of Smithshire, IL passed away on Sunday October 11, 2009, 1:00 am at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, IL.

She was born on June 13, 1926 in Smithshire, IL the daughter of Walter and Orilla Yoho Anderson. She married Robert W. Carlson on September 4, 1944 in Kansas City, KS he preceded her on January 26, 2006.

She is survived by one daughter Vickie Wood of Smithshire, IL; one son Steven Carlson (Patti Bowen) of Smithshire, IL; 3 grandchildren Pam Wood (Todd Osborne) of Monmouth, IL, Robbie Wood (Jan Watson) of Smithshire, IL and Michael (Jenny)Wood Smithshire, IL; 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters(Margaret Hilten and Barbara Kerr), 1 niece(Cheryl Lyon) and 1 nephew (Brad Kerr).

Mildred was a member of the Smithshire Methodist Church. She was part of the Warren County ASCS for five years. She was a secretary at the Dekalb Plant in Monmouth, IL for seven years and manager of Aunt Elsie's Cafe for eight years. Mildred and her husband took part in markets for several years until Bob had a stroke in 1993. She was the caretaker for Bob until his death. She liked to do crossword, knitting and crochet. She was a member of the Smithshire United Methodist Women, and volunteered at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center Monmouth, IL

Memorial service will be Thursday October 15,2009, 10:30 am, at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL. Cremation has been accorded and burial will be at a later date.
