Mottola, Gladys L. Case
Gladys L. Case Mottola, age 85, of Avon, Illinois formerly of Pinellas Park, Florida died on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 11:35 A.M. at Avon Nursing Home in Avon, Illinois.

She was born on March 9, 1924 in New Philadelphia, Illinois, the daughter of William and Chloe Hillyer Wheeler.

She married Clyde Case in November 1944 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1985.

She later married Edward Mottola on October 28, 1987 in Pinellas Park, Florida.

He preceded her in death on November 19, 2007.

Surviving are:

Sons: Dennis (Carla) Case of Galesburg, Illinois, Gary (Sue) Case of Elgin, Illinois, Terry (Denise) Case of Lincoln, Illinois and Michael Case of Abingdon, Illinois.

Daughters: Jane (Rick) Voorhees of Abingdon, Illinois and Pamela Kane of Pasadena, Texas.

Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Sisters: Elnore Yocum of Avon, Illinois and Dorothy (Leland) Brooks of Ohio.

Preceded in death by her parents, husbands and one brother: Wayne Wheeler in 1949.

She was raised and educated in Bushnell, Illinois and graduated from Cuba High School in 1942.

She worked at Blue Bell in Abingdon, Illinois from 1942 to 1943; was a telephone operator in New Philadelphia, Illinois; worked for W. A. Jordon in the 1960s; worked as a salesperson for the R. L. Polk City Directory Book; and sold real estate.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She moved to Pinellas Park, Florida in 1982 and then moved back to Avon, Illinois in 2008.

Cremation Rites will be accorded.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon, Illinois.

Rev. Barney Cummings officiating.

Inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg, Illinois.
