|Evelyn J. LaFollette, 94, of Knoxville, died at 9:53 AM Monday October 19, 2009 in Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born October 3, 1915 in Brimfield, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Susan Jane "Jennie" Shane Savage. She married Roland A. LaFollette in Toulon, IL on December 24, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Marge (and Ron) Cottom of Wataga, IL and Pat (and Frank) Walker of Knoxville, three grandchildren, Kim Wollrab of Wataga, Monte Walker of Dunlap, IL, and Mark Walker of Lewisville, TX, three great grandchildren, a sister, Vera Hasselbacker of Rock Falls, IL and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister.
Evelyn was reared and educated in Brimfield. She has lived in the Knoxville area for 65 years. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a Deaconess, a member of the Women's Vespers and the Hilltoppers. Family and friends are going to miss the loving and caring person she was.
Funeral will be 11 AM Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Lee Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
