Greenstreet, Donald E.
Donald E. Greenstreet, 60, of Monmouth, died 10:45 A.M. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at his home.

He was born November 8, 1948 at Monmouth, the son of Charles and Imogene (Britton) Greenstreet. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1966.

Donald served with the U.S. Navy Seabees, serving in Vietnam for two years.

Donald married Mary McCarthy on March 11, 1977 at North Hollywood, California and she survives.

After serving in the Navy, Donald worked for Aerospace in California for 10 years. He then returned to Monmouth and worked as a licensed plumber for over 30 years with Jerden Plumbing. He enjoyed his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post of Galesburg.

His family includes his wife, Mary, one daughter, Melissa Greenstreet and one son John Greenstreet both of Monmouth, three grandchildren, Tyler Greenstreet, Jaylyn Greenstreet and Carson Greenstreet, two sisters, Donna (Tim) McCarthy of California and Peggy Ettinger of Kirkwood, three brothers, David (Carol) Greenstreet of Florida, Danny Greenstreet of California and Darol (Becky) Greenstreet of Oregon step-Mother, Dorothy Greenstreet of Galesburg along with aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services 11:00 AM Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Jim Epperson of the First Christian Church of Monmouth officiating.

Cremation will take place following the services. Friends may call Wednesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
