|Edna D. (Anderson) Rosine, 94, formerly of Galesburg, died at 4:53 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Weston, Mo.
She was born February 21, 1916 in Galesburg, the daughter of Albert and Emily (Dickson) Anderson. She married Herbert G. Rosine on January 6, 1946 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, Philip Rosine of Forsyth, Mont. and Lyle (and Ellen) Rosine of Oswego, Ill., a daughter, Carol (and Robert) Schroeder of Kansas City, Mo., and three grandchildren, Gabriel Schroeder, Brooks Schroeder, and Meredith Schroeder. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marie Cederberg.
Edna was a school teacher at Windmill School, near Victoria, Ill., Webber School in Urbana, Ill., and Cook School in Galesburg. She graduated from Galesburg High School and Western Illinois State Teacher's College in Macomb.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galesburg, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and was active with Church Women United. While her children were growing up, Edna was active with the P.T.A. and Band Parents Association. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Meletomen Study Club.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Paul Johnson will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
