|Ronald L. Graves, 71, 200 Division St., Galesburg, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010 at home.
He was born February 25, 1939 in Macomb, Ill., the son of Leo W. and Anna Mae Gorsuch Graves. He married Cynthia Sabetti on February 24, 1978 in Bushnell, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, a son, Mark (and Christine) Graves of Raymore, Mo., a daughter, Tina Graves of Galesburg, seven grandchildren, Olivia Graves, Kyle Jackson, Morgan Graves, Parker Graves, Zak Todd, Brenden Todd, and Quentin Todd, and four sisters, Gloria (and Larry) Bell of Nixa, Mo., Judy (and Jim) Ashton of Bushnell, Ill., Jane (and Dallas) Campbell of Bushnell, Ill., and Kathy (and Gary) Kaye of Bovey, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was a sheet metal worker and also worked in building maintenance. He retired in March 2001. He attended Bushnell/Prairie City High School. Ronald attended Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Johnson will officiate. Military rites will be provided by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or Bethel Baptist Church.
