|Bruce L. Albert, age 71, of Monmouth, Illinois, died on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 12:15 A.M. at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on October 9, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Agnes Orndoff.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen L. (Kathy) Albert of Rio, Illinois and Gregory B. Albert of Monmouth, Illinois; two granddaughters, Lauren Albert of Monmouth, Illinois and Rachael Albert of Monmouth, Illinois; and companion, Frances Sells of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Aside from working at Wilson Foods in Monmouth, Illinois for over 30 years, Bruce ran several local butcher shops. He was an active member of the United Food Commercial Workers Union, and Bruce was well known for his homemade tenderloins. He also was co-manager of Citizen's Camp Ground in Monmouth, Illinois.
Bruce was the former mayor of Kirkwood, Illinois and was member and former president of Young's Lake in Kirkwood, Illinois.
He was a member of the Palm Shadows Church in Donna, Texas.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. Private Services will be held at a later date.
