|Edna Mae Lamb, 79, formerly of Galesburg, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Care Center of Abingdon.
She was born May 11, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of Fred and Rose Wilson Trulson. She married Jack D. Lamb on July 20, 1968 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.
Edna is by survived by her special friends, George and Wilma Landon of Abingdon. Wilma was her special sister by love. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including, Roy Trulson and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Dunlap of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roy Lee Pont, two daughters, Laura Gene Nash and Sherry Rose Pont, and four brothers, Clifford, Leslie, Russel, and Fred Trulson.
Edna worked for the Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation for 20 years. She also worked for the State of Illinois rehabilitating wild and orphaned animals for 15 years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1949. Edna was a member of the Knox County Humane Society, the Knox County Audubon Society, and an assortment of wildlife clubs on a national level.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Leigh Nygard will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D. or St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Mont. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
