|Marie E. Kinzer Way, 90, a resident of the Monmouth Nursing Home died at 1:55 am Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Nursing Home.
She was born on November 22, 1919 in Avon, the daughter of George E. and Cora (Snook) Hartley. She married Henry Eldon Kinzer in November of 1937. She later married Earl Way on April 3, 1965 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Jesse, Frank and George, one sister Grace White, a half-brother Charles Serven, a son-in-law Larry Nesbit, a daughter-in-law, Peg Kinzer and a great-grandson Ryan Fell.
Marie is survived by two daughters, Norma Nesbit of Galesburg and Deloris (and Edward) Brentise of rural Monmouth; two sons, Ray Kinzer of Abingdon and Charles (and Sharon) Kinzer of Galesburg; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Ahnert of Estacada, Oregon; stepchildren, Donald (and Annie) Way of Florida and Phyllis (and William) Carter of El Paso, Texas; step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Marie had lived in Monmouth the past twenty-five years and prior to that in Abingdon. She was a homemaker and her hobbies included quilting, baking and playing bingo.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Wednesday at the chapel.
