Price, Harry M.
Harry M. Price, 91, of Galesburg, died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Marigold Health Care Center.

He was born April 21, 1920 in Norris, Ill. the son of Harry N. and Sara Biggs Price. He married Maxine Hartley. He later married J. Holly Olson on June 29, 1973 in Galva, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Holly; a son, James (and Cheryl) Price of Peoria, Ariz.; a daughter, Linda (and Rick) Simmons of Bloomington, Ill.; a step-son, Wayne (and Joann) Olson of Altona, Ill.; two step-daughters, Janet (and Calvin) Whitman of Rio, Ill. and Carol (and Troy) Behymer of Galesburg; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (and Mariann) Price of Rantoul, Ill.; and a sister, Arline "Babs" Hubbard of Mesa, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and three sisters.

Harry was a steamfitter and pipefitter with Local Union #25 out of Rock Island, Ill. for several years. He had served as president of the local union in Galesburg. He was raised in Norris and graduated from Farmington High School in 1939.

He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He was stationed in North Africa, Italy, France, Japan, and the Pacific Theatre.

Harry was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galesburg. He was a Master Mason with Alpha Masonic Lodge #155 in Galesburg and was Grand Lecturer.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Masonic services will be conducted at 11 a.m. by Alpha Masonic Lodge #155. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials may be made to Alpha Masonic Lodge, First United Methodist Church, or Harbor Light Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
