|Jeffrey Arthur Strom, 53, of Victoria, Ill., died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born December 16, 1957 in Galesburg, the son of Arthur and Barbara Ann Seiboldt Strom. He married Victoria L. Swanson on April 3, 1993 in Victoria.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria; his children, Seth Arthur Strom and Alexandra Lynn Strom, both at home; a brother, Tony Strom of Victoria; a sister, Beth Ann (and Dan) Knox of East Moline, Ill.; six nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Rebecca Ann.
Jeff was a self-employed "ditch digger," owning Strom Excavating since the age of 16. He primarily worked in the Oak Run, Oneida, Wataga, Victoria, and Galva areas. He also opened graves for the Altona, Center Prairie, Ontario, Victoria, Walnut Grove, and Westfall Cemeteries.
Jeff had lived in the Victoria and Oak Run area his entire life, graduating from ROVA High School in 1976. He was a member of the Victoria United Methodist Church, the former A.T. Darrah, now Altona, Masonic Lodge, Midwest Trucker Association, Little John Conservation Club, and Land Improvement Conservation Association. Jeff enjoyed boating and spending time with his family, especially his children. Jeff and his son enjoyed going to motorcycle races and car shows together.
Masonic services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, followed by visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children in care of Anderson State Bank in Oneida. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
