|Edith L. Cox, 86, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1925 in Cisco, Ill., the daughter of Eddie and Letty Eubank Salisbury. She married Rev. Donald G. Cox on September 2, 1949 in Macon, Ill. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1962.
She is survived by two sons, Geoffrey (and Stephanie Kalfayan) Cox of Stanford, Calif. and Gregory (and Theresa) Cox of Durand, Ill.; five grandchildren, Maegen (and Daniel) Hoffman of Pecatonica, Ill., Ian Cox of Rockford, Ill., Emma Cox of Durand, Ill., Taline Cox of New York, N.Y., and Lydia Cox of Stanford, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Hoffman of Pecatonica, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.
Edith worked at Wells Fargo Bank. She was an active member of Grace Anglican Church in Galesburg. Edith also volunteered her time with FISH Food Pantry.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Grace Anglican Church. Rev. William J. Barnds will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee, Ill. Memorials may be made to Grace Anglican Church or FISH of Galesburg.
