McClean, Elizabeth J.
Elizabeth J. McClean, 97, of Galesburg, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1914 in Glasgow, Scotland the daughter of Richard and Sarah Allen Carnie. After graduating from high school in Glasgow in 1929, she came to the United States and attended business school in Chicago. She married William J. McClean on April 12, 1941 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1990. After spending many years in Franklin Park, she moved to Galesburg in 1991.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. John (and Barbara) McClean of Galesburg and James (and Patricia) McClean of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; six grandchildren, Stephanie (and Craig) Reiber, Emily (and Tom) Kilmer, Christopher (and Malea) McClean, Kristen (and Kevin) Morrisey, Heather McClean, and Nicole (and Noah Coleman) McClean; and three great granddaughters, Sarah Joann McClean, Mae Morrisey, and Amelia Morrisey. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Sarah in 1996.

Elizabeth was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Churches in Franklin Park, Ill. and Galesburg. While living in Franklin Park, Elizabeth was a member of the Franklin Park Women's Club, serving as its president and the First United Methodist Church Womens Society.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 in First United Methodist Church, Galesburg. Rev. Melva England will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, Ill. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Franklin Park or Galesburg.
