Chester 'Chet' L. Bishop died Friday October 19, 2012 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1940 in Abingdon, the son of Chester H. and Evelyn (Smith) Bishop.
Chet is survived by his two sons, Marty (and Angie) Powers of Galesburg and Chris (and Jill Patrick) Bishop of Abingdon, two granddaughters, Katelyn and Kelsey Bishop, one sister Jeanette McDermet of Knoxville, one brother Bob(and Arlene) Bishop of Bloomington and two half-brothers, Alfred (and Sharon) Rayborn in the state of Michigan and LeRoy Rayborn in the state of Oregon.
He graduated from Knoxville High School. He worked at Maytag in Galesburg for 32 years before retiring.
Cremation was accorded. A time to visit Chet's family and celebrate his life will be held from 4:00 om to 6:00 pm Tuesday October 23, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a prayer service.
