Kronsted, Terry Lee
Terry Lee Kronsted of Galesburg, Illinois passed away after a brief illness with prostate cancer. He passed peacefully on October 26, 2012 under the care of Harbor Lights Hospice at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born the son of Dale and Inga (Koskela) Kronsted on August 23, 1939 in Highwood, Illinois. Terry married Mary Jacqueline (Jackie) Kiefer on May 30, 1964. She survives of Galesburg, Illinois.

Also surviving is his nephew, Walter (Julie) Ibach of South Elgin, Illinois, cousins: Don (Barb) Sarenpa of Schofield, Wisconsin, Gib (Jean) Stubbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rev. Jerry (Kiyomi) Kaskela of Lubbock, Texas, Paul W. (Kay) Kronsted of Indio, California and also many friends.

Terry graduated from Ottawa High School in 1957 and Illinois State University in 1968. He received his MSW in 1972 from the Jane Adams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois. He worked as a postal service carrier in Ottawa before attending college. He then worked for DCFS, State of Illinois, primarily in Warren and Henderson Counties. He "retired" 18 years ago enjoying fishing (especially ice fishing), gardening, hunting and golfing. Terry was a lifetime NRA member, World Wildlife Fund, and the Western Illinois Juvenile Justice League.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Laurel Greens Golf Course on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Rev. Dave Sholl of the Galesburg Rescue Mission will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Hennepin Canal Parkway Visitors Center, 16006 875 E. St., Sheffield, Illinois 61361; Galesburg Rescue Mission, 435 East 3rd St., Galesburg, Illinois 61401; OAKS, 176 N. Farnham St. Galesburg, Illinois 61401 or to the Koskela House Finnish Museum, W 1820 West Central Avenue, Brantwood, Wisconsin 54513. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded.
