|Linda D. Cook, 58, of Galesburg, Ill., died 11:20 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home.
She was born May 25, 1954 in Mountain View, Mo. to Bill and Daisy Belle Foulk Young. She married Raymond Smith. She later married David Cook.
Surviving are three sons, Eli (and Angie) Smith of Galesburg, William Smith of Galesburg and John Cook of Cuba, Ill., four brothers, Kenneth (and Lillian) Young of Canton, Ill., Ronald (and Lisa) Haggerty of Auburn, Ill., Jerry (and Julie) Haggerty of Ellisville, Ill. and Larry (and Shannon) Haggerty of Indianapolis, Ind., a sister, Diana Carter of Bells, Texas and three grandchildren, Nikki, Logan and Josie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda was a Registered Nurse, Administrator and the Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Knoxville, Ill. for 25 years and retired April 30, 2012. She graduated from Cuba High School in 1972 and Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg in 1987. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, flower gardening and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
