Pfeiffer, Jean
Jean Pfeiffer, age 71 of Suffolk, Virginia, formerly of Abingdon, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

She was born Vivian Jean Allen, on May 24, 1942 in Abingdon, the daughter of Troy and Lida Mae (Armstrong) Allen. She attended school in Abingdon and graduated from Western Illinois University. She married Karl Pfeiffer on December 27, 1964 and they resided in Abingdon, where she taught school for a great number of years. Not only did she love teaching, but she found tremendous satisfaction in the kitchen, cooking and baking. She moved to Suffolk, Virginia in 2011.

Jean is survived by her husband Karl of Suffolk, Virginia, two sons David (and Debra) of Suffolk, Virginia, Todd (and Julie) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Karla Kuberski of McClure, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Ronald (and Dora), Benjamin, Kyle, Coty, Colby, Evan, Casey, Natalie, and Annlyn; six great grandchildren; her siblings, Wayne (and Millie) Allen, Twila Pettit, Janet Schenk and Nancy Wolters.

Jean and Karl were active members of the Berwick Baptist Church and are members of the West Suffolk Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Tom Smith and Rev. Don Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Berwick Baptist Church or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Following the burial, a meal and fellowship will be held at the Berwick Baptist Church in Berwick. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
