Landon, Mary Victoria
Mrs. Mary Victoria Landon, 61, of 805 S. Whitesboro St., Galesburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at home with her daughters.

She was born November 5, 1947 in Middleboro, MA, the daughter of LaClare E. and Mary V. Jurgelewicz Sloan. She married Nicholas Louderman on March 18, 1972 in Galesburg. She later married Richard Landon on May 24, 1991 in Burlington, IA.

She is survived by two daughters Paige (Mike) Hall of Champaign, IL and Sloan Louderman of Bloomington, IL; a brother Michael A. Sloan of Silvis, IL; a sister Patricia (William) Clements of Galesburg; her mother-in-law Theda Landon of Galesburg; a step son Mike (Lori) Landon and a stepdaughter Sherri (Jeff) Kremer both of Galesburg; two grandchildren Kennedy and Eric Hall and three step grandchildren Jennifer and Dylan Landon and Alissa Kremer. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

Mary worked as the Development Manager for Western Illinois Tourism Development Office in Macomb. She was the former director of the Galesburg Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mary was a Past President of the Illinois Council of CVB, and was a former member and treasurer of the Agriculture and Tourism Partners of Illinois. She graduated from Ft. Collins, CO high school in 1965. She graduated from Carl Sandburg College. Mary especially enjoyed spending time with her girls and being a grandma.

At Mary's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation to be accorded, with a Celebration of Life Gathering scheduled for Friday November 13, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Galesburg-Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Memorials may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation or to OSF Hospice. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
