Boggs, Lyman L.
Lyman L. Boggs, 75, of 515 Bandy Ave., Galesburg, IL died at 1:45 PM Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born on August 6, 1934 in Osceola, IA the son of Floyd and Donnabelle Parsons Boggs. He married Doris J. Megrew on September 7, 1952 in Osceola, IA.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two sons, Douglas M. (and Sherry) Boggs of Kewanee, IL and Randal D. (and Tamra) Boggs of Galesburg; a brother, Eugene (and Vera) Boggs of Montana; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was the superintendent for the New Windsor (IL) Natural Gas Compressor Station for 33 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and the Knox County YMCA.

He served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marilyn Anell officiating. Cremation will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Church or the American Cancer Society.
