|"Tom" Harold W. Maloy, 62, Galesburg, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Tom was born December 15, 1946, to John E. Maloy Sr. and Leona M. (Watters) Maloy. He married Sandra Naugle on February 9, 1974.
Surviving is his wife, Sandy; a son, Shawn (Tonia) Maloy and their 4 children Nicholas, Natalie, Nathan and Walker of Galesburg; a daughter, Wendy Maloy and her son, Hunter of Galesburg; a sister, Jackie (George) Holst of Presque Isle, Maine; 2 brothers, John E. (Martha) Maloy Jr. of Godfrey, Illinois and Michael (Ruth) Maloy Sr. of Galesburg; and nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents and a step-daughter Valorie.
Tom graduated from Galesburg High School in 1965. He started work at Bixby Zimmer Engineering after high school, retiring after 40 years.
Tom was a union member while he worked at Bixby Zimmer Engineering. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and will be an angel in the outfield. He enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, November 12, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1977 E. Fremont St., Galesburg. Bishop Michael Wynkoop will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
