|Dennis Carl Schlomer, 55, 756 Lawrence Ave., Galesburg, died Monday, November 2, 2009 of natural causes while hunting.
He was born March 15, 1954 in Roanoke, IL, the son of Harold and Leona Moritz Schlomer. He married Helen Haun, Lisa Martin, and then Vicki Nalley in October 1991 in LaSalle, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Nalley of Galesburg, 2 sons, Mark (and Amy) Schlomer and Chad Schlomer, both of Galesburg, 2 daughters, Rebecca (and Jeremiah) Whiting of Galesburg and Amber Schlomer at home, 5 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Marvin (and Alice) Schlomer of Strum, WI and Loren (and Dorothy) Schlomer of Rock Falls, IL, and 2 sisters, Karen (and Bob) Bryan of Fisher, IL and Marilyn (and Bill) Goble of Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis was a self employed plumber for 20 years. He had previously lived in Avon, IL. He graduated from Roanoke High School in 1972 and attended Bradley University. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
Funeral will be 10 AM Thursday in the First Church of the Open Bible. Rev. Loren Schlomer will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
