Richard Gagg, age 76, of Janesville, Wisconsin, formerly of Knoxville, Illinois, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 9:10 A.M. at Hospice Care, Inc in Fitchburg, Wisconsin . Richard was born on July 19, 1934, in Knoxville, IL, the son of Miles and Enola (Haynes) Gagg. Richard married Patricia McCulloch on April 5th, 1963 in Galesburg, IL. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2002.
Richard worked for Gale Products/OMC Galesburg for 31 years then continued working at General Motors in Janesville, WI and Modern Metal Products in Loves Park, IL. He always considered Knoxville, IL his home.
He was an accomplished tool and die maker and an avid fisherman, hunter and sportsman throughout his life and spent countless hours watching and listening to sports on the TV and radio. He particularly enjoyed attending high school sporting events during his life in Knoxville and was a loyal fan of the Cubs and Bears. He loved his fishing trips to the KCR Camp in Canada and loved visiting his daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Wyoming.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Paula (Jeff) Crain of Casper, WY, and son, Shawn Gagg of Janesville, WI; five grandchildren: Jeffrey (Cody), Jason, Derek, Alyssa and Jordan; and two great-grandchildren: Hayden and Kendall.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Randy Douglass officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5 until 7pm at the Funeral Home in Knoxville, IL. Burial in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Fellowship will be held after the services at the cemetery in Hurd Hendricks Fellowship Center. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. in Janesville, WI.
