Archie LeRoy Wallace, 90, of Roseville, IL, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010, 8:05 am at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center Monmouth, IL. He was born October 26, 1920 in Raritan, IL the son of Leo and Martha Walker Wallace. He married Dolores Phillips on August 15, 1945; she preceded him on April 15, 1998.
He is survived by one daughter Gloria (Randy) Hays of Rittman, OH; one son Jeffrie L. Wallace of Good Hope, IL; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; four sisters Wanda Denton of Huston, TX, Martha Stull of Stronghurst, IL, Ruth Olson of Raritan, IL, Sammy Blender of Raritan, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 daughter (Darlene Johnson), 1 son (Jimmie Wallace), 1 brother (Leo "Jolly" Wallace Jr.).
Archie was born and raised in Raritan, IL where he has lived his entire life. He was a member of the Raritan Baptist Church, and the Stronghurst American Legion, who will perform Military Honors at the grave. He was also a member of the Operating Engineer Internation Union #649.
Graveside service will be Monday November 1, 2010, 2:00 pm at the Raritan Cemetery, Raritan, IL. Friends may call from 11:30-1:30 pm at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL.
