Davis, Steven R.
Steven R. Davis, 63 of Smithshire, IL, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at his home. He was born January 21, 1947 in Galesburg, IL the son of Raymond J. and Beatrice M. DeFord Davis. He married Constance Thomas on June 9, 1968

He is survived by his wife of Smithshire, IL; two sons 1st SGT. Andrew (Tammy) Davis of Alexis, IL and Matthew (IKelli) Davis of Pawnee, IL; 5 grandchildren Thomas, Austin, Kayli, Mayci, and Parker; two brothers Gary Davis of Cameron, IL and John Davis of Galesburg, IL; and one sister Mary Youngblood of Galesburg, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.

Steven was raised in Cameron, IL, he attended Cameron, Warren and Galesburg schools. He served in the US Army 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam from 1968-1970. He retired from the Twomey Company after working there for 30 years. He was a member of the Roseville American Legion, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Monmouth, IL. He was a member of the Smithshire Fire Department for 40 years serving several years as chief. He was also a member of the Smithshire United Methodist Church. He loved and to go to auctions and especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Thursday December 2, 2010. 11:00 am at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL. Family will receive friends on Wednesday eve December 1, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cormans Roseville, IL. Burial will in the Ellison Cemetery, Smithshire, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Smithshire Fire Department, and or Roseville American Legion Honor Guard Detail. Please sign the guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.
