GEORGE A. "BUTCH" TOWNE, age 66, of Avon, Illinois formerly of Marseilles and Aurora, Illinois went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 6:50 A.M. at his home in the comfort of his family.
He was born on May 5, 1944 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of George and Ada (Edwards) Towne. He will be greatly missed by his life partner and best friend Hazel (Murphy) Towne of Avon, Illinois; five sons, Micah Towne of Avon, Ed Towne of Arkansas, Dana Towne of Virginia, Byron "Butch" Angel of Sandwich, Jimi Angel of Ottawa; four daughters, Terri Towne of Missouri, Penny Angel of Utica, Kathy Rainbolt of Arkansas, Robbie (Ron) Crabbe of Marseilles; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Georgia Towne; one son: Kenneth Towne; three brothers; two sisters; one grandson and one granddaughter.
He graduated from East Aurora High School, Class of 1962 and worked for over 40 years as a construction specialist. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. There will be a Celebration of His Life, which will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Family. Arrangements are entrusted to Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
