Stranger-Robison, Jean I.
Jean I. Stranger-Robison, age 73, of Abingdon died at 5:45 pm Sunday, November 13, 2011 of pulmonary fibrosis at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on January 17, 1938 in Galesburg , the daughter of Francis David and Iva Geneva (House) Tingley. She married Billy Stranger on June 15, 1957 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1997 . She later married Robert "Rob" Robison on April 22, 2006 in Abingdon. He survives.

Jean is also survived by her children, Melody Stromson of Abingdon, David (and his life partner Ron Bunch) Stranger of Galesburg, Danny (and Nicki) Stranger of Abingdon; her step-children, Rick Robison of Galesburg, Tim (and Emily) Robison of Galesburg, Kasandra Robison of Galesburg and K. Elizabeth (and Brett Kettler) Robison of Moline; eleven grandchildren; Becky Stromson, Tracey Stromson, Devon Austin, Samantha Stranger, Josh Lundeen, Ali Stranger, Lindsey Stranger, Abby Stranger, Dallas Stranger, Danica Woodward and Katie Kettler. three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Francis David (and Beverly) Tingley, Jr. of Columbus, Indiana and Robert (and Sue Smith) Tingley of Galesburg and; one sister, Carolyn (and Wayne "Bud") McNeil of Roscoe; and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was met at the pearly gates by her parents, her younger brother Jim and his wife Dee, her nephew Brad and his mother Ruth, her granddaughter Bryley and leading the party down the golden roads was her youngest son Darrell.

She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956. She worked as a nurse's aide at Cottage Hospital and later as a factory worker for 30 years at Maytag, retiring in September of 1996.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose and the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #318 Auxiliary. Her hobbies included bowling and playing card games. Jean loved the time she spent with her family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Jeremiah Barker and Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg . Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the chapel.
