Wilma R. Gray, 90, of Galesburg, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Marigold Health Care Center.
She was born May 28, 1921 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Edith Barnett Stine. She married Reader Gray in St. Louis.
She is survived by a daughter, Celita Finney of Nekoma, Ill.; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and three brothers, Stephen “Al” Stine, Michael Stine, and Kenneth Stine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers and sisters.
Wilma had been a nurse for 15 years. She graduated from Sumner High School and Stowe Teacher’s College. She lived in Quincy for many years before moving to Galesburg. Wilma was a member of the Park View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Galesburg. Wilma was musical, playing the organ and singing. She was also an artist and model gardener. She enjoyed playing board games and Skip-Bo.
Cremation will be accorded. No visitation or service is planned. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
