|Edna M. Booton, 88, of Galesburg, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born March 8, 1923 in Hermon, Ill. the daughter of Alfred and Mabel Carlson Martenson. She married Harold A. Booton on January 11, 1945 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, Alan (and Judy) Booton of Riverside, Ill. and David (and Betsey) Booton of Peoria, Ill.; three daughters, Donna Booton of Galesburg, Carol (and Robert) Neal of Galesburg, and Cheryl Rosenberg of LaVeta, Colo.; a sister, Norma Evans of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren, David Asencio, Daniel Asencio, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Wright, Shawna Porter, Melissa Brown, Aaron Booton, Brad Booton, Tom Booton, Callie Booton and Patrick Booton and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Martenson; and two sisters, Ruby Lambasio and Bernadine Murphy.
She graduated from London Mills High School in 1940 and Brown's Business College in Galesburg. She worked for the Prairie Farms Creamery, Galesburg for three years and then became a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg for over 60 years. Edna liked to read, crochet and was very devoted to her family.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. David Parker will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.
