Milner, Sharon L.
Sharon L. Milner, 67, of Alexis, IL, died at 3:50 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her home.

She was born Dec. 10, 1943 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Fairbanks) Loquist. She attended North Henderson Grade School and graduated from Alexis High School in 1961.

Sharon married Larry Milner On Dec. 14, 1963 in Lytton, IA. and he survives.

Sharon was a homemaker who most recently worked part time as a cook at United Grade School in Alexis. She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church where she was active as Deacon and a member of the Womens Association. She also was a member of the Alexis Women's Club.

She traveled to Africa in 1985 for mission work through the Church. She enjoyed reading and cooking for her family as well as exercising at the YMCA with her swimming buddies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 4 grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; 3 children, Mark Milner of Wilmington, NC., Julie (John) Olin of Alexis, and Greg Milner of Woodhull; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Olin, Meghan Olin and Eli Olin all of Alexis and Rayne Milner of Wilmington, NC.; 1 sister, Jeannine Patterson Monmouth; 2 brothers, Steve (Renatta) Loquist of Columbia, SC. and Rob (Gail) Loquist of Monmouth.

Her parents and 3 brothers, Gary Loquist, Richard Loquist and Mitchell Loquist, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November. 26, 2011 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church. Cremation will take place following the funeral services. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Church or the American Cancer Society. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis is in charge of the arrangements.
