Sutor, Stanley L.
Stanley L. Sutor, 77, of 1883 Knox Rd. 600 E, Galesburg, Ill. died at 7:12PM Sunday, November 11, 2012 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

He was born on May 28, 1935 in Galesburg to Frank B. and Alfaretta Miles Sutor. He married Mary Mills in Galesburg on August 8, 1964. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1983. He then married Patt Watts in Galesburg on June 15, 1984. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Jim (and Kimberly) Sutor of Galesburg; one daughter, Paula (and Fred) Nichols of Germantown Hills, Ill.; one brother, George (and Karen) Sutor of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Shirley Sutor of Galesburg; five grandsons, Nicolas, Christopher, Noah, Joshua and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Rick Moore on February 10, 1992; and two brothers, John M. Sutor and Frank M. Sutor.

He was a farmer and U.S. Mail Rural Carrier for many years and was retired from both.
He was a 1953 graduate of Galesburg High School. He attended Iowa State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Knox County Civic Center Authority, the Galesburg Noon Rotary Club, the Knoxville Jaycees and the Free Lance Bowlers. He was a Sparta Township Supervisor and a member of the Wataga Cemetery Board. He enjoyed woodworking and furniture building. He enjoyed camping and was a member of the Rail City Ramblers.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. David Seitz officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Chapel. Burial will be in the Wataga Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Altona-Oneida-Wataga (AOW) First Responders.
