|Jack Lee Huber, Sr., age 79 of Abingdon, died at 3:12 pm Friday, November 23, 2012 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on May 20, 1933 in Macomb to Margaret Huber. He was raised by his mother and father, Edwin Duncan who both preceded him in death. He married Mildred E. Fry on December 18, 1954 in Silvis and they enjoyed 57 years together.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Mildred, his children, Joe Huber, Frank Huber , Chris Horsford, Rose (Alan) Flynn, Gary (Tammy) Huber, Sr., Shelly (Lewis) Jones, Roy (Suzie) Huber and Jack (Jill) Huber, Jr., all of Abingdon; 27 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty (Don) Goyette of Massachusetts.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Ann Klinebough, and one brother, Donald Duncan.
Jack grew up in the Cleveland, Colona and Geneseo areas. He served in the Navy. He lived most of his life in Abingdon, where he last worked as a truck driver for Abingdon Salvage. His hobbies included scratch off lottery tickets, CB radios, fishing and in his younger days, racing stock cars. His favorite times were spent with his grandkids.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Warren "Barney" Cummins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel.
