Welsh, Irene F.
Irene F. Welsh, age 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on January 8, 1930, in Rock Island, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth and Lois Goddard Foster. She married Mike Welsh on August 9, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Surviving are two daughters: Pattie (Donnie Rollins) Fouts of Dahinda, Illinois and Tina Shaw of Kewanee, Illinois. One son: Kenneth Welsh of Crete, Illinois. Six Grandchildren: Randi Welsh of Woodhull, Illinois; Michelle (Brian) Alderson of Galesburg, Illinois; Levi Fouts of Wataga, Illinois; Michael Welsh of Dubuque, Iowa; Phillip Stephenson of Gainesville, Georgia. Six Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister: Audrey Carr of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.

She attended Galesburg High School and worked for the former Maytag Company of Galesburg, Illinois as an assembler for over 30 years, retiring in 1985.She enjoyed playing Bingo and was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post Auxiliary and Corpus Christi Catholic Church, both of Galesburg, Illinois.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis Illinois. Rev. Don Reynolds will officiate. There will be no Visitation. Inurnment will be in the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Little John Conservation Club or Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Fellowship will be held at the Galesburg American Legion following the Graveside Memorial Services in Alexis, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is charge of arrangements. On-line condolences or sympathy cards may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhomes.com
