Cummings, Cheryl L.
Cheryl L. Cummings, age 61 of Gilson, Illinois, died at 12:32 A.M. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on January 16, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Charles Norton and Dalene Alice Gates Cramer. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1970 and then graduated from Carl Sandburg College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She married George H. Cummings on October 11, 1985 in Knoxville, Illinois. He survives of Gilson, Illinois.

Surviving are her children: Eric Lee Woods of Edwards, Illinois; Chris (Kim) Woods of East Peoria, Illinois; C. L. (Karene) Cummings of Knoxville, Illinois; and Clark (Jenny) Cummings of Knoxville, Illinois. Nine grandchildren: Christian Sackfield, Dalton Woods, Emily Cummings, Hailee Cummings, Charlie Cummings, Matt Cummings, Alexa Woods, Bradly Cummings, and Avery Woods. Two brothers, Larry (Joyce) Cramer of Knoxville, Illinois and Bob (Debbie) Cramer of Knoxville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Logan Cummings.

City of Galesburg, Illinois, then Coordinator of Personnel Services at Carl Sandburg College from 1985 to 2007. She held a Beautician and Real Estate License. She was an active member of the East Galesburg Community Church in East Galesburg, Illinois. She also volunteered at the Galesburg Rescue Mission.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be in the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Logan Cummings Scholarship Fund in Care of Tompkins State Bank.
