Wall, Bernadette A.
Bernadette A. "Barb" Wall, age 69, a resident of the Monmouth Nursing Home and formerly of Berwick, died at 1:10 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the nursing home.

She was born May 2, 1944 in Long Island, New York, the daughter of Oswald and Marion (Bloom) Blumberg. She married Robert Anderson and they later divorced. She then married Gale Wall, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two infant children, one brother, Bob and one great-grandson, Justin.

She is survived by four children from her first marriage, Lydia Utsinger of Galesburg, Lynda (Mark) Anderson of Berwick, Lucynda Sargeant of Galesburg and Robert "Andy" Anderson of El Paso, Texas; one child by her second marriage, Gregory (Christy) Wall of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three step-children, Louann Wall of Galesburg, Gary Wall of Galesburg and Larry Wall of Moline; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Blumberg in Florida; and one sister, Marilyn Blumberg in Florida.

She was a homemaker. She also worked at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville and the former Americana Care Center in Galesburg. She later worked at Dollar General in Galesburg. She enjoyed bingo, working crossword puzzles, watering her plants, taking care of animals, cooking, fishing and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

As she requested, cremation will be accorded. To celebrate her life, a potluck luncheon will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Abingdon American Legion. Please bring a dish to pass. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
