Creek, Stanley R.
Stanley R. Creek, 74, of Alexis, IL died at 3:40 A.M. Sat. Dec. 19, 2009 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

He was born June 29, 1935 in Memphis, MO. the son of Samuel Sr. and Maxine (Overfield) Creek. He was raised and educated in Alexis where he attended Alexis High School.

Stan married Shirley Parsons. He later married Angie Steele on Nov. 3, 1965 and she survives.

Stan retired from John Deere Harvester in East Moline after 30 years in 1983 as a welder. He later owned and operated Creeks Welding in Alexis for many years. Stan LOVED fishing and he always had a beautiful garden. He loved spending time with is family and friends.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Davenport and recently attended the First Church of God in Galesburg. He was a member and served as a Union Steward for the UAW at John Deere.

Survivors include his wife, Angie Creek of Alexis; son, Gary (Margo) Scott of Whitehouse, TX; daughter, Carol (Paul) Richardson of Claremore, OK; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy, Cara and John; brothers and sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Stead of Viola, Wally Creek of Alexis, Sam (Gean) Creek Jr. of Alexis, Ethel (Owen) Conard of Elephant Butte, N,M., Doris (Larry) Nichols of Marion , IN, Dave (Laura) Creek of Manchester, TN, John (Becky) Creek of Lebanon, TN, Paul (Anita) Creek of North Pole, AK, Phil (Shirley) Creek of Batesville, MS and Mary (Rick) Shaw of Alexis; brother and sisters in law, John Steele, Bud (Ruby) Steele both of Monmouth, Mary Waterman of Banning, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 nieces and 1 nephew, one sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis with Pastor Don Reynolds of the First Church of God Church, Galesburg. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
