|Eloise Hanson, age 91, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on October 28, 1919 in Maquon, Illinois, the daughter of Alvin and Iva Simkins Potter. She married Lyle Hanson on December 18, 1937 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Rolland (Cherry) Hanson of Gilson, Illinois and Dick (Sandy) Hanson of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; one sister, Ilene Gawthrop of Galesburg, Illinois and one brother, Glen Potter of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband at their business, Hanson's Dairy in Knoxville, Illinois. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois and it's WELCA Women's League. She volunteered at the Galesburg Rescue Mission. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michel D. Clark officiating. There will be no Visitation. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois of the Galesburg Rescue Mission. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois in charge of arrangements.
