|Mary G. VanBeveran, 63, of East Galesburg, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1947 in Chambersburg, Pa., the daughter of Bert L. and Betty Horn Mackey. She married Charles L. VanBeveran on February 8, 1964 in East Galesburg. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2010.
She is survived by three sons, Tim VanBeveran and Angel of Elmwood, Ill., C.J. (and wife Chrissy) VanBeveran of East Galesburg, and Todd VanBeveran and Kimberly of Elmwood, six grandchildren, three brothers, Larry (and Colleen) Mackey of Upper Strasburg, Pa., Bert (and Maryanne) Mackey, Jr. of Galesburg, and Ed (and Laurie) Mackey of Galesburg, two sisters, Linda (and Richard) Jackson of East Galesburg and Lorma (and Terry) Jackson of Rio, Ill., and a nephew, Eric Mackey. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Emery and Gary Mackey.
Mary was self employed as owner/operator of the former Family Fitness and Tanning Center and also provided private home health care services. She graduated from Galesburg High School.
Mary enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and riverboat gambling. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
