|Wesley R. Tingley, 22, of Galesburg, died early Wednesday morning, December 1, 2010 in Galesburg.
He was born October 19, 1988 in Gainesville, Ga. the son of Robert W. and Caroline Selena Harrison Tingley.
He is survived by his father, Robert W. Tingley of Galesburg, his mother and step father, Caroline and Dave Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla., a brother, Robert Tingley of Jacksonville, Fla., paternal grandfather, Robert Tingley of Galesburg, maternal grandparents, Donald and Connie Harrison of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and special friend, Cassidy Mills. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Tingley and uncle Bradley Tingley.
Wesley was currently serving with the National Guard Company Alpha, 1st Battalion 178 Infantry in Bartonville. He served in Afghanistan from September 2008 to September 2009. He attended Galesburg High School, where he played football and graduated in 2007. He was currently attending Carl Sandburg College.
Wesley was of Christian faith. He was goal oriented and a committed soldier, who enjoyed his computer and his Xbox.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Private family graveside service will be Monday in East Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Illinois Military Funeral Honors Program.
